Biography

Heres the deal

- I was Born in White Rock BC in 1981.

-I Moved to Nelson BC in 1989 and played Saxophone after switching from Trumpet. I was swingin’ on the Sax when I was 13 years old.

-But by about 15 I Began listening to Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix albums.Thats when everything changed. I got a guitar and quickly sold off my Saxophone for a Peavey amp. Oh how I tormented that tiny speaker. I began by learning the craziest songs I could find. After a couple of Floyd tunes I really got into Hendrix, Led Zepplin, RHCP, Rage against the Machine, Primus and more. I then did a brief stint with the high school jazz band in 1999.

- I then auditioned as a student up at the music college in Nelson BC. It seemed like the right choice. I played my ass off till the audition because their was no way I wasn’t getting into that school.

-Selkirk College: This is where I met some of my bandmates from over the years and a bunch of other crazy people while I was at it.

-In 2001, I began playing in my first band Peace Frog with my present Bass player Carson Webber. This was a classic rock cover band that Carson and I honed our chops in. We played a bunch of gigs that went off really well. I had been barely playing guitar for 3 years at this point. The school year ended and Carson went back to Vancouver.

- After 2001 I joined another band after the break up of Peace Frog. This band was called Vintage Tongue. This band was a funk jazz rock group that drew from many different influences. We had up 4 horn players at one time. That was awesome. This is also when I started to play Trumpet again after about 10 years.

-I studied musical engineering and found that I was very adept at hearing and understanding how great tones were created. I learned how to utilize the College’s studio to create the sounds that I heard in my head. Utilizing techniques such as sampling, Double Tracking, Lush Delays and Reverb’s I created one of the hugest guitar sounds around today.

-I moved to Vancouver in September 2005, Where I have been playing in bands, doing session work for Dj’s, engineering as a sound and lighting stage hand, performing live, writing songs, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and working at GM Place.
